“It’s not about the individuals” says ScoMo after Ballarat bust unveiling

Scott Morrison has sung the praises of Ballarat’s Prime Minister’s Avenue after his own brass bust was unveiled last Friday.

The 30th installment of a PM’s head has been created by sculptor Martin Moore after a generous donation by B.R. Carlson.

The next four are also funded.

“It’s humbling in terms of being involved in that wonderful tradition there in Ballarat.”

“It’s a tribute to both Ballarat City Council and those who have been sustaining it for so many years since the 1940’s.”

“I think it’s a wonderful tradition and a great addition to Ballarat, it’s not about the individuals who are on that avenue but more what that represents I think,” Mr. Morrison said.

Meantime, the Herald Sun reports that extra security has been hired to protect the avenue from vandalism in the short term, following an attack in January last year.
