Oh my god, okay it’s happening, everybody stay calm, everybody stay calm, STAY F***ING CALM!
Yes you read that right, not a reboot, not a remake, but a sequel set in the same world as the American US Office TV Series.
A new series from Peacock, will see the same documentary crew that made Dunder Mifflin famous as they follow a dying, and historic, Midwestern newspaper. Whilst there are not too many details about the show revealed yet there are a few thing worth noting. The show is set to star Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars & About Time) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) as our dual leads of the new mockumentary at this Newspaper. Yes, the show has announced we may see some familiar faces, Oscar Nuñez, who played Oscar at Dunder Mifflin, has been announced as a recurring cast member. Whilst that is the only returning cast mate so far their’s no reason why we can’t expect to see more as the show develops.
The show at Peacock has however already got a title, The Paper, and production is already underway. The show has even given a first look image was released which you can see below!

The official longline of the show has also been released as well with the image:
The documentary crew that immortalised Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.
The series does also have a lot of familiar faces behind the scenes, with Greg Daniels & Michael Koman returning as co-creators. Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant are attached as executive producers to the new series. Does that mean we may see David Brent again?
When discussing the new series Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Content at NBCUnivsersal, said this:
“It’s been more than ten years since the final episode of ‘The Office’ aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock… In partnership with Universal Television and led by the creative team of Greg Daniels and Michael Koman, this new series set in the universe of Dunder Mifflin introduces a new cast of characters in a fresh setting ripe for comedic storytelling: a daily newspaper.”
The show has already started filming and is coming sooner than you may think with a September 2025 release date.
You can catch The Paper, when later this year on Peacock (most likely Stan in Australia but not yet confirmed) when it releases in September.
