Miley Cyrus faced unexpected heckling from fans during a Q&A session at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Friday, June 6. The pop star was there to promote her upcoming musical film, Something Beautiful, which ties in with her recently released album of the same name.

According to US Weekly, the “Flowers” singer was in the middle of answering a question when a fan interrupted, shouting, “We thought this was a concert. We paid $800. Are you actually going to sing?” While the 32-year-old superstar had not planned to perform, the situation grew more awkward as another fan requested she sing her hit song, “The Climb.”

After a brief pause, Cyrus decided to sing a few lines from the beloved track. However, she quickly pointed out that the audience wasn’t singing along, saying, “You’re not singing.”

A video of the incident, posted by TIMETOTIME on YouTube, shows Miley handling the uncomfortable moment with grace and kindness, despite the situation. Fans quickly came to her defense in the video’s comment section, calling the interruptions “rude” and “disrespectful.”

Miley Cyrus’ new movie, Something Beautiful, is set to hit theaters on June 12. Her latest album, also titled Something Beautiful, is now available to stream on all major platforms, including iHeartRadio.
