Emergency Hospitalisation in Las Vegas
While in Las Vegas for the annual Steve Irwin Gala, Bindi Irwin was rushed to the hospital after her appendix ruptured. Her younger brother, Robert Irwin, confirmed the emergency, which came as a shock to the family.
Emotional Post-Surgery Message
Just an hour after surgery, the 26-year-old conservationist shared a video update from her hospital bed. Appearing weak but grateful, Bindi thanked fans for their support and explained the extent of the procedures she had undergone.
“I had my appendix removed. I also had 14 new endometriosis lesions removed, and they kindly stitched up my hernia as well,” she said. “I’m on the road to recovery, one step at a time and I’m so lucky to have so much love in my life.”
Ongoing Battle With Endometriosis
Bindi first opened up about her struggle with endometriosis in 2023, revealing she’d endured chronic pain, fatigue, and nausea for over a decade. Her initial surgery uncovered 37 lesions and a chocolate cyst.
Her doctor’s words still resonate: “How did you live with this much pain?”

Family Support
As Bindi recovers, her brother Robert stepped in to attend the gala. “She’s going to be OK,” he reassured reporters. “But surgery, we weren’t ready for that.”
Support poured in online, with husband Chandler Powell calling Bindi “the strongest person I know,” and Robert writing, “Stay strong, Bindi! Love you!”
