“We’ll get used to the Lake Wendouree Lights” – says councillor Harris

Ballarat councillor Mark Harris has suggested that the 200-plus lights currently being installed around Lake Wendouree and Victoria Park will soon vanish into the background.

The poles are now being installed with the lights tipped to be switched on next month.

“The reality is it’s being done and its being done properly and carefully, cognisant of the trees and doing it right.”

“Maybe there’s a sense that we’ll get used to it, it’ll be an asset, people will be able to walk around it later into the evening,” Cr. Harris said.

Powered by 100% renewable energy, the LED lighting will turn off at 10pm each night and turn on each morning at 5.30am.
