The final ever Victorian Sheep Show will be held this Sunday at the Creswick Road Showgrounds in Ballarat.
The Ballarat Agricultural & Pastoral Society is making the move next year to new facilities at Mt Rowan, with construction already underway.
Sheep Show Chairman Jonathan Tischler says its more about anticipation than sadness ahead of the move.
“We’ll have a much bigger venue with potential capacity for 600 sheep, and here we are at 500 this year stretching the limit.”
“No sadness, just anticipation and probably relief.”
“The current facility has reached its use-by date, however its safe, it’s not falling down.
The show will be officially launched this year by North Ballarat Roosters coaching great Gerard FitzGerald who owns a farm at Derrinallum.
