Mayor Hudson installed for a second term

Cr Des Hudson has been chosen by his fellow councillors, receiving a 5 vote majority at last night’s special meeting.

 

It is the second time Cr Hudson has held the position of Mayor of Ballarat, he was last installed in 2015.

 

Cr Amy Johnson has been re-elected as Deputy Mayor making it her third term in the role.

 

“We have laid a solid foundation for the coming years under Cr Daniel Moloney’s leadership as mayor,” Mayor Hudson said. 
 
“I look forward to working with my fellow councillors, and Cr Johnson as Deputy Mayor, to walk those plans out.”

 

The meeting featured a historic town crier, the Sovereign Hill Red Coats and the traditional ringing of the heritage Alfred Bells at Town Hall, requiring specialist bellringers.
