A 69-year-old man has died in hospital following an alleged assault in Wheatsheaf yesterday.
The incident occurred at a property on Wallaby Road, Wheatsheaf about 10.25am.
It is alleged there was an altercation which resulted in the victim being set alight, he was airlifted to hospital where he died late last night.

A 63-year-old Wheatsheaf man was yesterday arrested at the scene and interviewed by police.
He’s been charged by Arson and Explosives Squad detectives with attempted murder, however it is expected this charge will be upgraded to murder following the overnight death of the 69-year-old man.
The accused faced the Ballarat Magistrates’ Court this morning.
