Lake Wendouree levels fall following dry spell, but not by much

Our dry summer and start to autumn is starting to impact the water level at Lake Wendouree.

Whilst it’s down slightly council Chief Executive Evan King says there’s no need to worry.

“At the moment its sitting at about 225 mm below full.”

“The average across a whole year, which obviously takes in Winter and Summer, is about 229 mm below full.”

“It’s certainly no reason to be concerned, ” he said.

Ballarat’s Lake Wendouree famously dried up in 2006 following years of drought.
