V/Line travellers between Ballarat and Ararat will need to plan ahead in the coming days as rising temperatures force a timetable change on some services.
The Ararat line will be subject to a PARTIAL extreme heat timetable; the service is enacted by V/Line when temperatures exceed 36 degrees.
Ballarat temperatures remain in the low thirties before hitting 38 on Saturday, while Ararat will reach 40 degrees on Friday.

Under the timetable train speeds are reduced to prevent damage to tracks in high temperatures, altering usual arrival and departure times.
Passengers are urged to check the V/Line website ahead of travel into Sunday.
