Renowned Ballarat photographer Max Harris is calling on the public for help to complete what could be his last book.
Growing up near the Eastern Oval in the 1960’s, Max is compiling ‘Ballarat the Swinging Sixties’ and wants your photos and stories.
76-year-old Max says Ballarat during the sixties was ‘something else’, especially the dance scene.

“That’s why it’s called Ballarat the Swinging 60’s, the dance scene was what is was about, and the music.”
“We had our local bands and our local dances, the big one would have been the 60/40’s which was at the Civic Hall,” Mr Harris said.
