Despite what you might think Ballarat is faring reasonably well when it comes to the instances of graffiti.
New data from the Crime Statistics Agency shows the rate of tagging here per 100,000 population is 68.
That’s compared to Bendigo at 73 and Geelong on 74.

The worst graffiti in the state can be found in the Mount Alexander Shire which includes Castlemaine, its rate is a whopping 488.
Statewide the rate of tagging is up 13% and is at a 10 year high.
