Footy legend and Ballarat boy Mick Malthouse is once again throwing his weight behind this weekend’s Ballarat Cycle Classic.
The event aims to raise $240,000 to support the work of the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute which receives no government funding.
Mick, who’ll be walking the Lake Wendouree event with his wife, says cancer research is vital.

“You look around and you see so many people who have tragedies, some have recovered which is fantastic, but what we want to do with this institute is break the code, break the sequence.”
“Let’s see if we can get so many more people to recover,” Mr. Malthouse said.
