Flood threat eases slightly in Skipton

Some better news for Skipton residents this afternoon with moderate flooding of the Mt Emu Creek now being downgraded to minor flooding.

The creek peaked at 4.77 metres at 10am this morning, a ‘stay informed’ advice remains in place.

Meantime, a relief centre has been set up at Neill Street in Beaufort due to some houses being isolated by flood waters. A flash flood ‘watch and act’ is still in place for the town.
 
Ballarat last night recorded 33mm of rain in 10 hours although there have been reports of much higher totals in suburbs such as Golden Point, Brown Hill and Alfredton.
