A Ballarat angler has hooked a pricey catch in the Northern Territory’s Million Dollar Fish competition.
Ranae Eels caught the eighth $10,000 barra of the 2022/23 season while chartering Darwin’s Bynoe Harbour.
The Bunkers Hill local is the first interstate fisher to catch a tagged Barra this year.

Ranae was on the last day of her Top End holiday when she reeled in the prize.
Million Dollar Fish Season 8 runs until 31 March 2023. There are still 92 x $10,000 barramundi swimming around Northern Territory’s Top End waterways, in addition to nine fish worth a million dollars.
