Date set for V/Line price drop with big benefits for Ballarat commuters

We’ll still have to wait about another 12 weeks, but the cost of getting a train from Ballarat to Melbourne is set to tumble.

The Andrew’s government election promise will see a daily cap of $9.20 anywhere in the state, that’s in line with the metro price.

A current return trip to Melbourne will set Ballarat commuters back almost $46 in peak times.

The change comes into effect on March 31.
