One of Ballarat’s most prominent COVID-19 testing and vaccination offerings is being dramatically wound back in Ballarat due to the loss of Federal support.

Commonwealth Department of Health contracts are set to end for the UFS clinic at 309 Dana Street, with COVID-19 vaccinations ending at the site on December 31 2022, while PCR testing at the location will finish up on February 28 2023.

Once the PCR testing has finished in February the Covid Testing Clinic will close.

Last month Redan’s 4Cyte drive-thru testing clinic also ceased operation, meaning Ballarat residents will need to see their GP for a PCR test from Feb.

Vaccinations will still be available at pharmacies and GPs.

UFS CEO Matt Vagg said “The clinics have performed 98,250 PCR tests, administered 67,180 vaccines and managed 600 COVID positive patients. We look forward to continuing to support the community with COVID PCR testing as well as providing medical care to COVID positive patients until 28 February.”
