Councillor not concerned after reports of loose Bridge Mall pavers

A Ballarat councillor says he’s not at all concerned with reports some pavers in the recently revamped Bridge Mall are already coming loose.

The City of Ballarat has just spent $23 million on the shopping precinct, including opening it up to one-way traffic.

Cr. Jay Morrison says contractors will fix the issue, at no cost to ratepayers.

“It’s not crumbling, it’s just some of the pavers have slightly lifted,” he said.

“We do have people on site who are doing an assessment of what the cause is. It’s still within the liability period, so contractors will be there to fix it up.”
