There’s a chance Brown Hill residents might get their long-awaited $1.66m Splash Park in time for summer.

The local pool was decommissioned in April 2023 with engineering issues causing lengthy delays to construction of the new water based attraction.

Brown Hill ward councillor, Ted Lapkin, says he won’t make any guarantees but he’s hoping it’ll be open late in the year.

“I can be cautiously optimistic that it’ll be ready to rock n’ roll when the warmer weather arrives,” Cr Lapkin said.

The Splash Park is one part of the Brown Hill Recreation Reserve master plan, further unfunded stages will see public toilets, half-court basketball, grassed areas as well as shade and seating.
