Ballarat’s nationally famous Swap Meet has been cancelled next year.
The airport site that organiser’s Rotary has leased since 2015 is now under contractual arrangements as the Ballarat West Employment Zone expands.

The disappointing news comes despite Rotary working with the City of Ballarat to find a new long term venue.
“An alternate site off Blind Creek Road has been severely impacted by recent heavy rains and some localised flooding which renders the site unsuitable,” Rotary Ballarat Swap Meet Chairman Lindsay Florence said in a statement.

“The Ballarat Swap Meet Board proposes to continue to research and investigate viable options for 2024 and the future, but we are unable to guarantee the immediate future of the event.” he said.
The iconic meet was first established in 1989.
