Melbourne’s new look metro trains have been unveiled in Tullamarine this week, or at least a life sized mock-up was.
The X’Trapolis 2.0 will be built in Dandenong and assembled at Alstom’s Ballarat factory from later this year.

“Our record investment in locally made trains will create manufacturing jobs in Ballarat and apprenticeship opportunities for the next generation,” said Member for Wendouree Juliana Addison.
25 of the trains will be built at a cost of close to a billion dollars.
