Ballarat leadership course forced to beg for its future, again

Funding of Ballarat’s ‘Future Shapers’ leadership program is once again under threat.

Organised by the Committee for Ballarat, the scheme is one of nine around the state, but the money runs out on December 31.

Committee for Ballarat Chief  Executive Officer Michael Poulton say the statewide approach is best.
 
“We know our product is a really good one here, our concern is that this is about a statewide approach to building regional leadership capacity.”

“If you take that funding away its some of the smaller regions that will suffer, we think the value here is a statewide approach to regional community leadership,” Mr Poulton said.
 
The Committee has given a guarantee that the 2023 program will still proceed regardless of the funding outcome.
