Live musical theatre returns to the famous raked stage of Her Majesty’s Theatre in Ballarat from tonight.

BLOC Musical Theatre present the classic tale of The Wizard of Oz for 12 performances only.

The show’s director, Gareth Grainger, says he’s feeling the pressure of putting on such a famous show.

“Yeah, it’s just a little bit terrifying.”

“This is my first time directing for BLOC as full-time director, I’ve been in many shows, and I actually did the Wizard of Oz myself 20 years ago and I played the Tin Man.”

“So, I had a good idea of how I wanted the show to look but it’s all very different when you’re suddenly in control,” Mr. Grainger said.
