Six of Ballarat’s nine councillors will move a notice of motion at tomorrow night’s monthly meeting protesting the governments controversial Emergency Services and Volunteer Fund.

The group, which includes Mayor Tracey Hargreaves, says the levy will impose a significant financial burden on property owners, especially farmers.

They also say its shouldn’t be councils’ responsibility to collect the money.
