The Ballarat Foundation have hit their Christmas Appeal fundraising target for this year, raising a total of $105,000.
Up to $50,000 in toys, food and household items were also donated during the appeal.
Money will be distributed to Ballarat charities, including the Salvation Army, Uniting Ballarat, Vinnies and Anglicare Ballarat for residents and families requiring immediate assistance.
CEO of the Foundation, Andrew Eales, says it’s an incredible response from the community.
“We know that times are really tough out there. We are getting constant reports from community members who are seeking assistance,” he said.
“To see the Ballarat business community, individual donors [and] community organisations get behind the appeal, given the circumstances that we’re seeing, we’re just really appreciative and grateful for that support.”
