Ballarat burglars caught via Apple AirTag

High-Tech equipment has been the undoing of suspects in a Ballarat North burglary.

The victim alerted police that his Apple AirTag, which was amongst the items allegedly stolen from his home, was pinging in the area of Landsborough Street around 3.30 this morning.

The Apple Airtag is used as a way to keep track of belongings.

After a number of enquiries, two people were arrested at a Landsborough Street unit, while a firearm, ammo and suspected stolen goods were also seized.

A 16 and 18-year-old are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
