Wander through a vast outdoor bazaar of new, old and rare books, see award-winning authors including Helen Garner and Tony Birch, or join a writing workshop at one of Australia’s favourite regional literary events.
The historic hamlet of Clunes, 36km north of Ballarat, will transform into a booklovers’ paradise, with author panels debating the ethics of crime writing, the role of booze in Australian culture, how to write books that matter for young audiences, and whether journalism is serving our democracy.
Entry to the festival site is free for the frst time in a decade, with all-day music and family entertainment. You can also purchase tickets to author talks with Sofie Laguna, Alice Pung, Maxine Beneba Clarke, Toni Jordan, Dennis Altman, Jacinta Parsons, Andy Jackson and many more!
On Saturday night, join a Poetry Slam or The Tin Shed Show, where authors perform with Sally Ford and The Idiomatics.
Whether you love romance, crime fiction, First Nations work, journalism or fantasy, there’s something for you at Clunes Booktown Festival.
