Coven Press is a local small business offering self-publishing, book development and marketing services to authors and writers.
Headed up by four local women (all creatives themselves!), Coven Press guides writers from blank page to book launch! All Booked Out is Coven Press’ first bookish event!
With the theme of ‘Themes We Orbit’, All Booked Out focuses on the threads authors weave through their work and the ideas, thoughts, dreams and fantasies they can’t help but return to when they sit down to write.
All Booked Out will host an author market, panels, kids corner, kids book readings and a book swap at the convenient central location of the Inter Club Drop In Centre on Pleasant St S.
The event is set to take place from 9am-4pm on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July 2025.
Coven Press has invited local authors from Ballarat and surrounds to participate in an author market where they can sell their independently published books and connect with new readers.
Four panels will take place over the two days, giving indie authors the chance to speak to audiences about why they write, how they write and the themes they can’t ignore.
A dedicated kids corner will be up and running throughout the whole weekend, located right next to the author market so that parents can comfortably browse while their kids play, craft and read.
Kids book readings will be scheduled throughout the mornings of both days, with local authors getting the chance to delight new audiences with their stories.
For those attendees who may not want to spend money but still want the thrill of new books to add to their shelves, a book swap will take place on both days of the fest.
Attendees can bring up to 10 books they’d like to donate and swap them with books donated by other readers, participating in an eco-friendly method of sourcing new reads and avoiding books ending up in landfill.
3pm-4pm on each day will see a dedicated low sensory hour (music turned off, lights dimmed, conversations kept at low volume) take place, to account for all needs.
