If you use any of these passwords, then you should change them because they make it easier for hackers to get your valuable information.
So if you like to make your password super easy and use either your child or pet’s name, or even abc123, then you will need to rethink this because according to Queensland Police, you have made vulnerable online.
Hackers seem to be smart cookies (unfortunalty for us) and they know that lots of people use passwords starting with a capital letter and people often use the same password across many sites.
QLD Police issued this warning because online scams have increased, people have had their finances stolen and businesses and employment has lost out big time through financial crimes.
Financial crime and fraud has cost Australia more than $8.5 billion, and that's annually.
SplashData is a company who deals with password management, and it has released its annual list of “Worst Passwords of the Year”
So if any of these are matching your password, change it now, and if you can't think of what to change it to, QLD Police suggested using at least 12 characters and include symbols such as $,?,% @ in random places.
They also suggest that YOU and only you should be in control of your passwords.
