Think of it as a little silver lining for all the sleepless nights.
According to University of Bristol Professor, Peter Fleming, a specialist in infant development and health, if your baby refuses to go to sleep and wakes up frequently thereafter, it could be your baby is intellectually gifted.
Professor Peter Fleming told Buzzfeed news there is a connection between “very high levels of developmental and intellectual achievement and not sleeping throughout the night.”
“Human infants are not designed to sleep for long periods, it’s not good for them,” he added.
And while this may be hard to hear for sleep-deprived new parents, the Professor went on to say “there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that there is any benefit to anybody from having a child that sleeps longer and consistently.”
