Melbourne Vixens are coming to Ballarat LIVE for pre-season matches against Adelaide Thunderbirds...
A regional recruit, Ruby grew up in Bendigo and went to school in Geelong. This will be her first year in the Vixens team. She was a squad member last year but did not travel with the team to Queensland.
A star of the future, Ruby is a crafty goaler with an exceptional mix of speed and precision. Not shy to shoot and boasting great hands, Ruby has the capacity to score and to assist effectively around the circle.
At just 20 years old, Ruby already brings a wealth of experience at the highest level. A member of the 2019 Victorian Fury premiership side, Ruby has also represented the Victorian state team consistently since she was 12 years old, as well as representing Tasmania at the 19/U level. A member of the 17/U national squad in 2018, Ruby possesses all the skills and smarts to make an impact at SSN level.
She has been training with Kaylia Stanton, another new recruit, while we waited for MJ (Mwai pronounced m-wow-I Kumwenda) to return from Malawi. It was only this week that the entire squad all trained together after a disrupted pre-season due to MJ and KD (Jamaica) trying to get back to Australia as well as three of our players in New Zealand playing for the Diamonds.
The Melbourne Vixens will be playing at the Ballarat Sports Event Centre April 10th and 11th. Tickets are on sale HERE through Ticketek.
