Most Shazamed Songs of 2017

It’s no surprise Ed Sheeran’s 9x Platinum smash “Shape of You” was Shazam’s most searched song of 2017. “In many ways “Shape of You” defined 2017,” said Julian Marshall, Shazam’s Global Head of Content. “It spent 14 weeks at the top of our worldwide chart after it’s release in January.”

“This year will also be remembered for the rise of Latin music, led by Despacito,” Marshall said. The track spent 16 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 trying for the longest Number 1 streak with Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day.”

An honourable mention goes out to Harry Styles who made his first appearance on the chart as a solo performer with his debut single “Sign of The Times,” scoring 7,766,485 searches. Calvin Harris and Imagine Dragons pulled respective numbers with 7,687,755 and 6,072,431 searches.
