Six charged with drug offences at Spilt Milk

Police have charged a number of people who were busted doing the wrong thing at Spilt Milk in Victoria Park on Saturday.

Over 20,000 people flocked to Ballarat to get a glimpse of local and international musicians hitting the stage, while police were on high alert.

Six people were charged for possessing a drug of dependence by police, while a further 21 were cautioned by police after they were found have drugs at the festival.

Two people were arrested by police on the day for being drunk and disorderly, and five were evicted from the event for behavioural offences.

Highway Patrol however charged zero people for drink or drug driving related offences. 

Meantime, Ballarat Health Services said they were "unable to comment" this morning on the condition of a man who was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital on Saturday afternoon following a suspected drug overdose.

The man in his 20s was reportedly in a critical condition following the incident, while his current condition is unknown.

It comes after a 24 year old man from Shepparton died from a cardiac arrest at the Strawberry Fields festival in Tocumwal in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police allege he took a cocktail of drugs, including GHB, MDMA and cocaine.
