A petition's been tabled at Hepburn Council, calling for at least a dozen geese to return to Lake Daylesford.
370 people have signed the document which claims the lake has been "lifeless" since the removal of the large introduced birds.
The petition also says geese became a part of a eco-system of the area, as they protected other bird species from predators such as foxes.
Staff at Hepburn Council will prepare a report for the December 17 council meeting.
It follows a change.org petition which attracted more than 6000 supporters.
