The new long term car park on Creswick Road will be officially opened today.
The car park was open for drivers from the week commencing September 23, but had remained empty with sections of parks cordoned off by flags earlier this week.
A total of 290 cars can be parked at the new site, which replaces the 275 parks lost at the Gov Hub construction site.
Locals looking to park at the new facility will be paying $3 per hour, however the price is capped to $6.50 per day, and will operate on credit card-friendly digital systems.
It's hoped the car park will help ease parking woes for those who regularly park in the CBD, while it is also within walking distance to the Ballarat Railway Station and the Ballarat central library.
The Creswick Road car park was funded by the state government, as part of the City of Ballarat's plan for an additional 1000 car parks in the Ballarat CBD.
