A Ballarat man has spent the weekend in police custody after he was arrested last week over the murder of an Adelaide mother 26 years ago.
Suzanne Poll was working at a stationery store in Salisbury, in Adelaide's north, when she was stabbed to death in April 1993.
A recent familial DNA link is what led to the 46 year old man's arrest on Friday at a property in Wendouree.
At the time of Ms Poll's death, the man lived 300 metres away from the crime scene.
It's expected South Australian Police will apply for the man's extradition today in Ballarat, before he is escorted back to South Australia.
