The changes to how Ballarat recycles has received some mixed reviews.
Yesterday the City of Ballarat announced it had entered into a new contract with Australian Paper Recovery whic is unable to process glass.
The change means locals will have to drop their glass off elsewhere, or put it in their general waste bin.
While some locals say they're not fussed by the change, the move has brought on concerns from some waste management experts.
Some say it will be a big effort to educate residents about the changes, when the solution so far is only guaranteed for 12 months based on the current contract that has been signed.
The changes for recycling come into effect from September 30.
