A proposed bike path down the median of Sturt Street could soon become reality.
Despite being ruled out by the state government last year, VicRoads is now progressing with designs for the shared pedestrian and cyclist path down the median between Pleasant St and Dawson St.
Last year the proposal was shot down following public outcry, however the plan's back on the table after recommendations from a public reference group.
There's no firm date for when the path's construction will begin, but VicRoads says it won't affect pre-existing structures, including statues and trees, that feature throughout.
