There's more police on the beat than ever before after a record recruitment drive.
Across Victoria, there's more than 15,000 full-time equivalent police officers, which is an increase of 16 per cent over the last four and a half years.
Outside of the state's capital, an extra 319 officers have been sent to regional parts of the state, including Ballarat, Bendigo and Horsham.
The increase in patrolling officers comes after the latest figures from the Crime Statistics Agency shows that the victimisation rate is at its lowest level in 15 years.
