Tourism workers say they're concerned after cuts were announced to Visit Ballarat yesterday.
The City of Ballarat will take over the role of tourism come September 30, and cited costly financial duplicatinos as the reason behind the move.
The news yesterday came as a surprise to many who work in tourism in Ballarat, with some concerned that with tourism now falling back under the council's control, they may no longer have a voice to represent them.
Meantime it's been confirmed that 12 jobs out of the 16 at Visit Ballarat will remain after the move happens later in the year.
