The Ballarat Animal Shelter is calling for donations as they reach capacity with over 100 cats awaiting their forever home.
As more cats are handed into the shelter each week, there is an increased need for cat food and toys to care for the surrendered felines.
The shelter is asking for donations of wet cat food and small cat toys, such as balls and toy mice, to help keep the cats and kittens of all ages entertained as they wait to be adopted.
Donations can be made directly to the Ballarat Animal Shelter on Gillies Street.
Meantime, locals interested in adopting a new family member are encouraged to contact the shelter to find out how, and meet the kittens and cats available.
All cats adopted from the shelter are de-sexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated, and registered with the Council for a year.
