A Ballarat real estate office has closed shop, with a notice on the door asking customers to contact Consumer Affairs if they have any urgent enquiries.
The notice - dated March 13 - is on the door of Hayden Real Estate in Sturt St
It says the agency is now under the administration of Southbank-based agent Ross Hamilton and he will be making contact with customers shortly
Phones have been diverted to an after-hours service in Queensland.
Basil Hayden started the agency in Ballarat in 1928.
Richard Hayden took over the reins from his father in 1996.
Mr Hayden and Hayden Real Estate Ballarat (Skyline Developments PL) are still registered real estate licence holders, according to Consumer Affairs.
Hayden Real Estate offices - also started by Basil Hayden - are located in areas including Torquay, Ocean Grove, Anglesea and Leopold. They operate as a separate company and at this stage it is understood they are unaffected.
