The Andrews Government has committed to a major redevelopment of the Ballan Recreation Reserve if it wins next month's state election.

They have promised to hand over $3 million towards the project which will see the construction of a brand-new sporting pavilion, including female friendly changerooms, and an extension of the oval, bringing the field size up to the required standard for senior footy, and creating a playing space for two soccer fields.

The opposition has previously pledged $1 million to extend the football oval and redevelop the netball and tennis courts at the Reserve.

Meanwhile the government has also announced Moorabool Shire Council will receive $1.6 million as part of the Community Sports Infrastructure Loans scheme to install competition standard lighting on ovals at Ballan, Gordon, Wallace, Bungaree, and Dunnstown Recreation Reserves, to allow for additional training and night matches.
