A Bacchus Marsh overpass has reopened ahead of schedule.

The Halletts Way interchange between Holts Lane and Burbidge Drive was meant to be closed from April 3 to 15, to allow VicRoads to rebuild the road pavement to make it safer for drivers, but instead reopened on Friday (April 13).

Meanwhile additional night works will be carried out on Friday and Saturday (April 20 to 21), where traffic will be stopped from using the overpass for short periods of time, as beams for the new shared-user path are lifted into position from the freeway.

The works on the overpass include new entry and exit ramps, and once complete the improvements are expected to increase access to the Western Freeway, take pressure off other access points, including the Gisborne Road interchange, and improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
