"The Ballarat train station is crumbling before our eyes" says SOS

A local lobby group says the central Ballarat train station built in 1862 is crumbling before our eyes and nothing is being done about it.

Speaking to Radio Ballarat, Save our Station (SOS) President Gerald Jenzen says the 160 year old building is falling apart, dirty and has next to no disability access.

The lack of maintenance appears to be out of step with the remainder of the station precinct which has a new Quest hotel, refurbished Goods Shed, multi-deck carpark and bus interchange.

SOS is planning a public meeting soon to demand a multi-million dollar investment to fix the station.
