Not the road-trip both Ballarat Miners squads wanted in the NBL1 over the weekend.

The women went down to the Nunawading Spectres by 11 points, 70 to 59, with Zitina Aukuso impressing with 25 points.

Meantime, 23 points and 4 rebounds from Preston Bungei couldn't get the men home either, also losing by 11 points, 89-78.

In brighter news, the Youth League Miners are through to the grand final series after a huge win on the road against Nunawading on Sunday, final scores 103-77.

Next up for the NBL1 squads its Diamond Valley at home in Ballarat this Saturday night, the second last home game of the home and away fixture.
