Ballarat councillors ticked off on three major projects worth close to $4 million at last nights council meeting.

Works will go ahead to improve the Coles / Woolworths carpark off Eastwood Street including re-sealing, new traffic islands and line marking, trees and better pedestrian access.

Local company Ballarat Excavation and Transport will undertake the work.

Buninyong's Warrenheip Street is also set for a make-over to the tune of $1 million between Eyre and Forest streets, and Learmonth Street, west of Warrenheip Street.

Works by Ballarat based Enoch Civil will include carpark modifications, a bus bay, stonewalls and landscaping.

The third project is a four-month contract for major asphalt patching, awarded to Bitu-Mill, which has a Ballarat depot, for $1.258 million.

The contract involves asphalt repairs of various road defects to meet the City of Ballarat’s Road Management Plan and improve road conditions.

Also last night councillors approved concept designs for the $15 million Bakery Hill masterplan.
