The hunt for a white stolen Mercedes which prompted an airwing response in Ballarat this morning has come to an end.
Police have made two arrests after tracking the vehicle to Spencer Street in Canadian.
The arrests follow a series of aggravated burglaries in Lake Wendouree last night.
It's understood two Mercedes vehicles were stolen and spotted by police this morning.
Detective senior sergeant Tim Argall said police immediately sought assistance from the airwing, which arrived quickly.
"The airwing was following and we had a number of ground units following trying to plant stopsticks, but while we were trying to do that the vehicle came to a stop and our ground units got a a chance to arrest the offenders before they fled," he said.
Argall said the car reached speeds of more than 100-kilometes an hour but was not damaged.
