The Ballarat region could receive as much as 20mm of rain today as our wet spring continues.
Over the next 4 days total rainfall of close to 50mm is predicted.
Miriam Bradbury from the Bureau of Meteorology says it won't develop until later this afternoon.
"It's during the late afternoon and evening period that we are going to see the heaviest rainfalls," Ms Bradbury said.
Meantime, according to Central Highlands Water, Ballarat water storages remain at healthy levels and ahead of last year.
Total surface water is at 96.5% capacity compared to 93.1% this time last year, with our biggest reservoir Lal Lal spilling at 100.6% capacity.
