Commerce Ballarat has welcomed the lockdown support package announced yesterday by the state government but says a long term plan is still needed.
90,000 businesses across the state will be eligible to share in over $484 million to help off-set the financial pain caused by the current 12 day lockdown.
Even if your business didn't apply for support back in May and June the government says you are now welcome to apply.
Meantime, Commerce Ballarat’s mental health clinician says lockdown 5.0 is proving to be the hardest hitting yet.
Jade McIlfatrick says people are feeling the effects more keenly than previous ones saying the collective mentality is much more cynical.
She says it's important to stay active.
"Even just getting out and going for a walk is getting you out of the house."
"Taking the dog for a walk, just keeping physical is always really good for your mental health," Ms McIlfatrick said.
